The Barrow towpath is a safe, traffic free trail along the Barrow river valley on a flat grass track that runs right by the river. Follow the route once taken by horses as they guided large barges from small port to market town, with the river for company and rolling hills and lush forests stretching away from the river banks. Keep your eyes peeled for a flash of blue from a passing Kingfisher, or eyes on the water for the joy of spotting an Otter in one of their European strongholds. Waterside Bike & Hike can cater for couples, family outings, or even larger groups. Our custom built 20-bike trailer can be used to drop your bikes anywhere along the valley allowing your group to make a one way journey along the trail. Electric bikes are available for those wishing to tackle some of the hills in the area and opening up access to other beauty spots and small towns such as St. Mullins, Inistioge and Borris.
